Hotel Valencia Riverwalk: My Trip to San Antonio

Aug 1, 2021 | Texas | 0 comments

I am so excited to share my experience at Hotel Valencia Riverwalk in San Antonio. I’ve been eyeing this hotel for a while now, but haven’t had the chance to visit it until recently. The hotel is located in downtown San Antonio, right on the Riverwalk, and has an amazing view. Our room had an awesome view of the Riverwalk. You can see the pictures below! Check out all the fun we had exploring around too- there are tons of great restaurants in walking distance where you can dine outside or enjoy live music at night as well.

I have partnered with Hotel Valencia for this post. The best part for me is they had zero restrictions when it came to my blog post. This is my honest opinion, with no constraints. For the record, I pick locations that I want to personally go to.

I was recently in San Antonio for a girls’ trip and had the opportunity to stay at the Hotel Valencia Riverwalk. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. The staff was all very friendly and accommodating, even allowing us to check in early for no extra charge. There are also lots of restaurants within walking distance from the hotel and we had such an awesome time exploring that area, even, going downtown for some sightseeing! I would definitely recommend this hotel if you’re looking for something within walking distance of restaurants, shops, and more, not needing to spend hours in traffic or having to worry about parking.

Top 3 reasons why I love Hotel Valencia

1. The hotel was beautiful and the staff was very friendly

2. I loved that there were a lot of shops, restaurants, and things to do nearby

3. It’s also right on the river walk which is so peaceful and relaxing

Why stay at Hotel Valencia?

The Spanish influence in the hotel is what makes it so special. They have a perfect balance of modern functionality with historic accents and vintage décor that transports you to old-world charm without feeling stuffy or outdated.

The Spanish influences on Hotel Valencia San Antonio are just one reason why I love this place! The ambiance draws from every corner, creating an environment where history meets function, and charming sophistication can be found at any given moment.

Check out the Rooms

The Hotel Valencia offers everything that people are looking for in an affordable place to stay during their vacation: comfortable beds; spacious hotel rooms; breathtaking riverwalk views- what more could anyone ask?

Important things to know

The room does not come with a fridge but you can order one free of charge. If you prefer, they allow valet parking for your car, or a nearby public lot to park on the street is available if desired. If you’re a coffee lover, then don’t worry they have an in-room coffee maker. Also, Starbucks is just down the street and they have everything from lattes to frappuccinos. You can even get pastries on your way out!

The gym is a nice size with plenty of equipment that’s always clean and ready for use.

My favorite things to do at Hotel Valencia:

We all know that moms are superwomen, but sometimes we need an extra push. Here’s a list of things to do in the area by Hotel Valencia! I hope you find it helpful and have fun exploring everything downtown San Antonio has to offer.

San Antonio Riverwalk (In the heart of the city)

The 15-mile San Antonio Riverwalk is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike. The path winds through the downtown area, featuring restaurants, hotels, shops of all descriptions, and even bars!

Despite staying right next door on Hotel Valencia’s doorstep, you can’t beat strolling along this unique waterway with its bridges spanning it as far ahead as the eye can see. I don’t think there are any other rivers that have this many attractions integrated into them as we do here in beautiful Texas.

I want to be honest with my readers. I do want you to know there is a homelessness problem right now in downtown San Antonio. I love to walk along the riverwalk in downtown San Antonio at night when it is full of people shopping or eating dinner out at their favorite restaurants. Sometimes though, there are some very sad moments where you can’t help but feel bad for those who have nowhere else to go but under bridges and overpasses. There are many homeless people on the riverwalk right now. The problem is that they do not have any place to go. Keep this in mind, when visiting with a group of girls. Currently, at this time, there are more than usual. However, at no point did we feel unsafe.

Visit the Alamo (The Heart of Texas)

The Alamo is an iconic landmark in Texas where the Battle of the Alamo happened. The battle was fought by Texan soldiers to win their independence from Mexico, and it has been a symbol for Texans ever since. As a proud citizen of this state, I am grateful that we have something so important as our memorialized legacy at such an amazing location!

Please note, the Alamo is a short walk from Hotel Valencia.

After a long week of work, my friends and I were excited to go out for the night. We decided to catch dinner on the Riverwalk after which we walked over to see the Alamo. We enjoyed looking at the Alamo under starry skies before heading back to the hotel! No crowds at night mean we have the place all to ourselves.
