Thinking about going to Great Wolf Lodge? Are you scratching your head, wondering what in the heck is a Paw Pass? Or, have you been researching diligently, and still wondering if Paw Passes are worth it? I’m not here to tell you what to think, but I am here to give you the information for you to decide. No, the title is not clickbait. Keep reading, because I got you covered!

I have partnered with Great Wolf Lodge for this post. The best part for me is they had zero restrictions when it came to my blog post. This is my honest opinion, with no constraints. For the record, I pick locations that I want to personally go to.
Now I would like to welcome all the new Howlers!

To be honest, the first time we went to Great Wolf Lodge, we swam all day, every day. But, this was our second trip, and we were more than ready to try all the fun activities that we missed out on during our previous trip. My kids were intrigued by all the kids running around playing MagiQuest, plus the candy store was calling their names.
What is a Paw Pass?

If you are worried about the price consider buying one pass and having the kids share it.

- Choice of classic or MagiQuest wand.
- One Paw Points game card for Northern Lights Arcade
- One Great Wolf Lodge Candy Shop candy cup
- One leather wristband to take home.

- One Build-a-Bear animal (outfit not included)
- One pair of Great Wolf swim goggles
What other passes are available?
Wolf Pass- Older kids $99.99
Pup Pass- Younger kids $44.99
MagiQuest Game
It’s a mix of video games with live interaction entertainment. It takes 4 to 6 hours to complete, and you have up to 4 days to play the game. MagiQuest is an extremely popular activity to do at the lodge. EVERYONE is playing it! Trust me, your kids will want to play once they see all the kids running around and having a blast at the lodge.
Included with your Paw Pass is the standard wooden wand in the picture below. It is the wand without a topper. For an additional charge, you can upgrade your wand or even add an awesome-looking topper. Since we were inexperienced, we decided to stick with the standard wand that comes with the Paw Pass.

Once you have a wand, you are given a quest to complete. This entails running around the lodge and engaging with interactive objects. The treasure chests open and crystals glow bright with just a wave of a wand!

My kids loved that they were able to take home the wands as a souvenir.
Cost without Paw Pass
Wand: $15.99 – $22.99 + tax*
Game: $14.99 + tax
One Paw Points game card for Arcade. ($10)
This arcade is packed with exciting games. It is filled with the newest and best games. And it’s open 24 hours so the fun never ends.
Candy Shop Candy Cup
With your Paw Pass, you get a cup full of delicious candy. They have a massive selection and they stuff the cup full of candy. My kids love candy, so they felt like they hit the jackpot. What to pick? What to pick?

One Build-A-Bear animal (outfit not included)
My kids have been asking to go to a “Build a Bear” for years. They were beyond excited to find out they were finally getting their own furry friend experience. Upon arrival, they select their animal and they are able to watch as their personalized/custom animal comes to life. If you have kids who have been to other “Build a Bears” before, the clothes selection is very comparable, paired with plenty of neat accessories. Mine have never been beyond thrilled. This momma was happy. It is nice to finally adopt an animal that I will not be personally responsible for. Hehe!

Cost without Paw Pass:
Great Wolf Kids Character
$30.00
Bracelet, Glitter Tattoo, and Goggles
These souvenirs are just icing on the cake. My kids enjoyed running around collecting these bonus fun items. Plus, who doesn’t need an extra pair of goggles while at the waterpark? Also, I suggest you save the glitter tattoos for the end of your trip.

In my opinion, if it’s your first visit and you only have a few days, then use those days for swimming. However, if you are ready to take the next step at Great Wolf Lodge, then Paw Passes are the way to go. There are so many activities to do around the lodge, that you may have missed out on during your first visit. With the Paw Pass, you can finally tell your kids YES to almost everything. You no longer have to drag them away from an activity that costs additional money. In total, the Paw Pass is a neat gift that lets you fully experience what Great Wolf Lodge has to offer, besides just the usual awesome waterpark.
