Nov 4, 2020 | Texas | 0 comments

Are you wanting to go on a tropical vacation? Have you had Hawaii or Florida on your bucket list, yet your wallet is giving you a big NO? What if I told you that you can still go on an amazing vacation, without leaving Texas?! It is as simple as booking a trip to Margaritaville Lake Resort in Conroe. I know I sound like an infomercial, but you will actually be purchasing something you really want.

I have partnered with Margaritaville Lake Resort for this post. The best part for me, is they had zero restrictions when it came to my blog post. This is my honest opinion, with no constraints. For the record, I pick locations that I want to personally go to.

COVID-19: There is currently a statewide order in Texas that individuals must wear a mask or face coverings inside public spaces. Children 10 and younger are exempt from this order. However, you are not required to wear mask while outside or drinking and eating.

Margaritaville Lake Resort Hotel Room

This waterfront hotel has 303 island-inspired luxury rooms that will have you asking yourself…am I still in Texas??? Watch my video below!

Before you ask…. yes, this is the size of every room.

Cottages

Are you not in the mood to stay in a large hotel? Do you want to escape the crowds? Are you looking for something romantic and quaint? Do you have loud kids and do not want to worry about your neighbors in the next room? Margaritaville Lake Resort has the most adorable cottages that are available to rent on Lake Conroe. The cottages are located across from the water park, in a secluded location near the water.

Here is a sneak peak of the inside.

Things to do at Margaritaville Lake Resort:
Margaritaville Water Park

The water park is included with your stay, just use your room key for access to the park.

The water park is open from March to October. The heated adult pools and hot tubs are open year round.

Picture yourself drinking a margarita by the pool, with the sun in your face and music playing, while your kids swim the day away. Literally, you are “Wasting away in Margaritaville”! Doesn’t that sound like fun?! Imagine a bar on every corner and waiters dropping off drinks, while you do absolutely nothing. No shoes, no shirt, no problem! Living life like Jimmy Buffet!

This can be achieved at this 3.5 acres water park!

So grab your friends!

Head out to the Splash Zone, Lazy River or the Turn About Waterslides!

If you are not in the mood to go and hang out with the kids…no worries. They have two “adult only” pools just for you, the Heated Infinity Pool and Changes in Latitude Pool. The best part is that on most days, they have a live deejay. Super cool!

Insider Tip: The park provides towels, however, you must return them to the park. You cannot take them to your room.

Pickle ball, Tennis and Miniature Golf

This is included with your stay. Just talk with the front desk.

After countless hours of swimming, we decided to spend our evening at the beautiful miniature golf course, located on the property. This tropical putt putt will have you asking yourself again, “Am I still in Texas?” The best part is that both adults and children will have a blast hitting their colorful golf balls and marking their score cards. It’s the perfect end to relaxing day.

Golf

While we were “looking for our lost shaker of salt” at the pool, the guys spent the day golfing. There is no “women to blame” that day. (Hehe, I just couldn’t help myself.) Back to the golf course, this 18 hole golf course is perched by the shores of Lake Conroe. This updated and well-maintained golf course, was the perfect escape for the guys. If you have a golfer in your life, this is a perfect birthday gift! You can purchase a golf gift cards here.

St. Somewhere Spa

This is a tropical escape for your mind, body and soul. After the gentlemen had their “guy time”, it was time for my “me time”. I ditched the kids and headed off to the spa. I was pleasantly surprised because this is no small hotel spa. This is a massive country club spa with a variety of services.

I chose the Himalayan Superfruit Body Peel with Pomegranate, Goji, Acai and Bilbery. I thought it was about time for my body to receive some TLC, since my face usually gets all of the attention. I’ve noticed, the older I get, the more problems I am having with dry skin. The treatment is about a hour and a half long. My body was scrubbed from head to toe with an exfoliator. Next, I was rubbed down with a fresh scented body peel, then I was wrapped up like a cocoon. I went in as a 39 year old dry caterpillar and emerged as a soft and supple 25 year old butterfly. My skin felt like a babies bottom, just like the good old days. If you are looking for a romantic getaway, this resort is for you too…hint hint.

Einstein’s Surf and Boat Shop

Nope, I’m still not done yet. This resort even has boat and watercraft rentals on site. You can rent a pontoon, ski boat, paddle board, kayak and electric paddleboat. I suggest you make reservations in advance to ensure your desired watercraft is available.

Personally, we spent a few hours exploring Lake Conroe on a pontoon boat with some good ol’ Texas country music blaring from the speakers. Hello…when in Rome, do as the Romans do.

You are required to watch a boating instructional video before renting a motorized boat. You must be 21 years or older. If you are not a veteran boater, please watch this video closely. I grew up on the water and there is a boater etiquette, that all boaters must follow. This ensures everyone’s safety while on the water. This is very important! This is my serious boater face. Do I look like a captain?

What to Eat at Margaritaville

There are several places to eat while at the resort; Land Shark Bar & Grill, License to Chill, Lone Palm Pool Bar, 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar and Playin A Round Café.

Land Shark Bar & Grill

My favorite restaurant at Margaritaville is Land Shark Bar & Grill. You can hang outside with your friends and listen to live music, while munching on delish food. Currently they do not take reservations, so be prepared for a wait. It is totally worth it! Trust me!

Insider Tip: If you are hanging out on Lake Conroe, but not staying at the resort, they have boat slips available. This is the perfect spot to stop for dinner.

Try the fried pickles! You will not regret it. Probably the best I have ever had!

Starbucks

For those who love Starbucks…yup they have it! I went down to the water every morning to enjoy my “kid free” fresh cup of coffee. This is the life!

Insider Tip: I saw families waking up early in the morning and fishing out on the piers. What a great way to spend time with the family!
