Highlands Tortoise Reserve in Santa Cruz

Cueva del Cascajo

It’s an easy hike, though there’s a small part where you’ll have to crawl on your hands and knees for a few seconds – no worries, you can always turn back if you’re not up for it. Many people have done it, and trust me, it’s no biggie!
Centro de Crianza Fausto Llerena
This amazing initiative builds upon decades of tortoise research and conservation by the Charles Darwin Research Station. See their fantastic tortoise corals, where you’ll find adorable hatchlings and miniature tortoises that will be released back into the wild when they’re all grown up. Their scientists come from all corners of the world and conduct fascinating research on everything from anatomy to zoology.
